BBC South-West flagship news programme Spotlight today aired a news piece on the success that manufacturer Rittal CSM Ltd have had in driving down their energy costs by installing the Somar Eluma in their Plymouth-based facility. The firm, who make large rack mounts for computer server arrays, have seen their lighting costs reduced by 68% since their factory was recently retrofitted with 300 Eluma units to replace their existing metal halide lighting on a one-to-one basis.
The environmental savings from the energy efficient lighting amounted to an annual reduction of the firm’s carbon footprint of 373 tonnes: equivalent to driving to the moon and back four times in a medium-sized family car!
